We received the nicest note from My Fathers House.  Updating us with information about their program and how they used the funds we donated.

100+ Women Who Care - East County

Dear Friends,

The reopening of Multnomah County has been wonderful for us at My Father’s House.  As residents are called back to work, new jobs opening up and our own precious volunteers coming back to work.  I think the staff here at My Father’s House has spent a week doing the “happy dance”.

During this stressful time we have been very blessed!  We have wonderful individuals, churches and other non-profits bringing us food donations, masks, hand sanitizers and all kinds of supplies to help sustain us.

I do have to brag on my staff and residents as they have taken everything so seriously  Sanitizing tables, chairs, door handles, bathrooms…anything that doesn’t move is disinfected on a regular basis.

The “stay at home” order has also enabled us to re-group and learn to do things differently.  Having an opportunity to do class times over ZOOM, record our childcare manager reading stories for the kids and giving elbow bumps as we meet with our families.  It has been challenging and helped us realize how very important  relationships are.

In addition, we have moved families out into their own new homes, but had to wait in order to bring new families into the shelter.  Starting last week we begin filling the shelter’s empty rooms back up and it feels so good to have our family grow again.

As always, we appreciate you, your kind words, prayers and support now and throughout 2020!

With a grateful heart,

Cathe Wiese, Executive Director

My Fathers House Graduate

Graduation postponed…but finally we were able to celebrate with 6 Mom’s and Dad’s receiving their high school diploma through “School of Success” sponsored by “East County’s 100 Women Who Care”.  My Father’s House is all about making dreams come true!

We still need you!

During this “back to normal/stabilizing” season of our lives, we invite those who have opportunity to consider starting a small monthly recurring gift to our mission. These steady gifts make a tremendous impact on the lives of our families who are dealing with so much.  Your gift allows My Father’s House to shelter, encourage and bless the residents. Everyone giving a little, goes a very long way! To support our work, just click on the blue button “Making a difference”
